Welcome to Prickly & Pear, a dessert and food blog! Two engineering degrees and 4.5 years in the aerospace and defense industry later, I’ve moved onto a different career path – culinary arts. It was only after the encouragement of a friend and co-worker who had done something similar and the support of my husband did I finally have the courage to take the leap. I enrolled in culinary school in San Francisco in August 2012 and am having the time of my life! I hope to document and share my culinary escapades both at school and at home. It will soon become self evident that desserts are the primary focus here. I hope you enjoy!
